New episodes of Princeton House Behavioral Health’s award-winning podcast Mind on Mental Health are expected to drop this spring.
Launched in August 2020, the series features Andy Dean, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker and senior community relations specialist, conversing with Princeton House subject matter experts, including physicians, therapists, and substance use counselors.
While the COVID-19 pandemic remains a focus of the series, Dean is also planning episodes discussing behavioral health in general and practical topics such as insurance considerations.
“We are trying to reach a broad audience,” Dean said. “Our intent is to produce episodes that resonate not only with our staff but with people throughout the community.”
The eight-episode first season focused on pandemic parenting, offering tips to parents on fostering their kids’ well-being – in addition to their own. It earned the 2020 Special Recognition for Niche Marketing award from the Healthcare Planning & Marketing Society of New Jersey.
In 2021, the podcast branched out. Pandemic-related episodes covered anxiety, grief and loss, seasonal affective disorder, and supporting seniors, among other topics. Other episodes discussed mental health myths and misconceptions, eating disorders, and coping through the holidays.
“When the pandemic began, we wanted to find new ways to help community providers support their patients,” said Barbara L’Amoreaux, Princeton House director of marketing and communications. “Mind on Mental Health has evolved into a top-notch communication channel.”
More than 30 episodes are available on major podcast platforms, and at www.princetonhouse.org/podcast.
