Patient Access staff members are often the first point of contact for patients and their loved ones, whether they need a routine preventive care appointment or are getting a second opinion about a cancer diagnosis. They are responsible for scheduling, admissions, registration, and insurance verification. Exemplary performance in Patient Access can set the tone for each patient’s experience.
Congratulations to six members of Penn Medicine Princeton Health’s Patient Access management team, all of whom earned certified healthcare access manager (CHAM) credentials in 2022.
The CHAM program, offered through the National Association of Healthcare Access Management, is designed for individuals with at least two years of managerial experience in Patient Access. Certification validates that managers possess the knowledge and skills that exemplify a reliable, accountable Patient Access professional dedicated to improving patient experience, according to Laurie Clayton, director of Princeton Health Patient Access Centers.
Princeton Health’s Patient Access Team is one of many across Penn Medicine who strive to offer patients a positive experience at the organization’s “front door.” Read more about the team behind the largest central Penn Medicine Access Center on the Penn Medicine News Blog.
