Lancaster General Hospital recently received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines® Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus Gold Quality Achievement Award. The award recognizes the hospital’s commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines created from the latest scientific evidence.
Hospitals that receive the award have not only achieved 85 percent compliance of care standards for two consecutive calendar years, but they have also identified and treated 75 percent of stroke patients in 60 minutes or less, and 50 percent of stroke patients in 45 minutes or less.
“This is truly a team award. It validates the energy that our team dedicates every day to providing excellent patient care,” shared Tracey Mousley, supervisor, Stroke Program. “It also speaks to high level of care that occurs throughout the continuum of care.
