Lancaster General Health Physicians, which is a network of more than 350 primary-care and specialty physicians and 200-plus advanced-practice practitioners in the Lancaster area, has gained an orthopaedic practice – now named Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health Physicians Orthopaedics.
The practice specializes in orthopaedic care, particularly joint replacement and sports medicine surgery. The existing practice, previously known as Westphal Orthopedics, has approximately 30 employees and includes three orthopaedic surgeons – Thomas Westphal, MD, MBA, CPE; Brian Brislin, MD and Carl Becker, MD – as well as three physician assistants, an in-house physical therapy team, and administrative and clinical support staff.
"Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health Physicians is pleased to welcome Westphal Orthopedics to our medical group," said Michael R. Ripchinski, MD, chief physician executive. "The physicians, physician assistants, and staff are known for delivering exceptional care and service to their patients for many years. We look forward to working with our new partners to provide high-quality, compassionate orthopaedic services to our community."
