The results are in, and – drumroll, please – Pennsylvania Hospital has been named a Platinum Level hospital in this year’s Donate Life Challenge! The Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP)’s annual Donate Life Challenge encourages hospitals across the state to spread the word about organ, tissue, and cornea donation within their communities.
With more than 8,400 individuals awaiting transplants in Pennsylvania alone, it is critical to inspire more donations to meet the growing need.
Participating hospitals were scored on a variety of awareness and designation activities, such as leading hospital presentations on the donation process, organizing registration events, and hosting programs with living donors, transplant recipients, and family members. The aim is to educate and engage employees and community members alike, and PAH swept the scoreboard!
Penn Medicine as a whole also rose to the occasion, placing second at the highest level in the state. Thank you to everyone who played a part in this year’s Donate Life campaign.
