Join Good Shepherd Penn Partners for their first “How to Have a Safe and Active Pregnancy” class on Tuesday, June 5th, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.! This $10.00 class will take place at GSPP’s PAH location on the first Tuesday of every month and aims to educate pregnant women and new moms on exercise and fitness during and after pregnancy.
Taught by physical therapists who specialize in women’s health and pregnancy and postpartum patients, this free monthly program will offer guidelines for exercise during pregnancy, including specific exercises and ways to move to avoid injury. Instructors will also discuss common discomforts during pregnancy and how exercise can help. They demonstrate proper positioning during breastfeeding, proper lifting and carrying techniques, and general stretching and strengthening exercises important during and after pregnancy.
You will always need to obtain permission from your obstetrician before beginning an exercise program before or after pregnancy.
