Congratulations to everyone who helped make Pennsylvania Hospital’s 2019 Philadelphia Heart Walk campaign an outstanding success! This year, nearly 300 walkers from PAH joined more than 2,000 other Penn Medicine staff and supporters at Citizens Bank Park to promote the American Heart Association (AHA)’s mission to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans nationwide by 20 percent by 2020. By surpassing the hospital’s fundraising goal and donating more than $40,000, each of Pennsy’s 34 teams played a vital role in supporting the AHA’s lifesaving research and community programming.
This year’s “totally rad” Heart Walk Bash & Auction had an '80s theme, and employees came together at the President’s House and Garden to wine and dine, enjoy themed karaoke and trivia, and bid on auction items in support of a worthy cause. Some of the highlights included a Kentucky Derby Party with CEO Theresa Larivee, a wine tasting with CFO Frank Anastasi, and Flyers tickets courtesy of CMO Dan Feinberg, MD.
“The success of the Heart Walk truly depends on every employee’s participation, whether they donate, walk, or help to organize our fundraising efforts,” said Tracy Griffith, DSW, MSS, MS, LCSW, director of Clinical Resource Management and Social Work, who led the hospital’s efforts with Jeff O’Neill, AIA, ACHA, CHFM, senior director of Facilities. “This is a team effort, and as per usual, Pennsy staff showed up to make a difference.”
