birthday
PAH leaders celebrated another exceptional year by serving birthday cake.

Last month, PAH staff took time to relax and enjoy a slice of celebratory cake in honor of the hospital’s 268th birthday. On May 11, 1751, Dr. Thomas Bond and Benjamin Franklin successfully convinced the Pennsylvania legislature to grant a charter for a hospital serving the “sick-poor and insane” of Philadelphia. Over time, nationally-renowned specialties were developed and state-of-the-art facilities were expanded, but throughout its evolution, Pennsy’s dedication to the community and to living up to the spirit of its historic Good Samaritan seal has never wavered. Happy Birthday to the “Nation’s First” — you don’t look a day over 250!
