A leader in the application of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in the critical care setting, Penn Medicine is hosting the region’s foremost ECMO conference on May 11 and 12 at the Smilow Center for Translational Research in Philadelphia.
The 2018 Penn Adult ECMO Symposium will offer a wide-ranging schedule of CME/CNE certified lectures, training events and presentations designed for health care professionals wishing to enhance their practical knowledge of ECMO, and to understand both the advantages and potential pitfalls involved in the establishment of an ECMO program.

Featured presenters include Penn Medicine’s Michael Acker, MD, Chief, Division of Cardiovascular Surgery, and Christian A. Bermudez, MD, Surgical Director, Lung Transplantation and ECMO.
Additionally, attendees will hear from a panel of specialists, including cardiac and transplantation surgeons, critical care, cardiovascular and pulmonary experts from both Penn Medicine and other highly regarded ECMO programs across the nation.
