Carmen Guerra, MD, MSCE Associate Professor of Medicine and Vice Chair for Diversity and Inclusion, studies disparities in access to cancer screening in vulnerable patients. Dr. Guerra has co-founded and evaluated navigation programs at to help vulnerable individuals including under-represented minorities and the un/underinsured in Philadelphia access colorectal, breast and cervical cancer screening tests. To date, these programs have helped 2000 individuals access cancer screening tests which have identified and navigated dozens of individuals found to have cancer to treatment.
