Overview
There are six residency positions designated for a five-year "clinical track" and two positions for the six-year "research track" in the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program. Both tracks are designed to provide residents with five years of clinical training in orthopaedic surgery, however, the research track provides one year of non-ACGME accredited research.
How to Apply
Applicants must utilize the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). Applications received or requests to review applications outside of ERAS will not be accepted. The application deadline is October 1st, 2024.

- There will be no supplemental video in addition to the ERAS application as we have required in past years
Next Steps
Interviews will be held on January 17, 2025and January 18, 2025.

IMPORTANT: A notification will be sent to an applicant's Dean of Student Affairs for failure to show to a scheduled interview or week-of-interview cancellation notice.
The final step in the application process is registering for and ranking the Penn Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). The department encourages interested applicants to apply to the 5-year clinical track using NRMP Code 1628260C0 and the 6-year research track using NRMP Code 1628260C1.
