Both tracks are designed to provide residents with five years of clinical training in orthopaedic surgery, however, the research track provides one year of non-ACGME accredited research.

  • Next Steps

Interviews will be held in person Friday, January 19, 2024 – Saturday, January 20, 2024 with a social event occurring the evening prior to each interview day.

We are participating in the Universal Offer Day Program. Applicants selected for an interview, wait-listed, and not selected for an interview will be notified by November 13.

Due to an overwhelming number of applications, please refrain from calling or emailing regarding your application status.

IMPORTANT: A notification will be sent to an applicant's Dean of Student Affairs for failure to show to a scheduled interview or week-of-interview cancellation notice.

The final step in the application process is registering for and ranking the Penn Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). The department encourages interested applicants to apply to the 5-year clinical track using NRMP Code 1628260C0 and the 6-year research track using NRMP Code 1628260C1.
