Didactics

Weekly grand rounds form the foundation of our robust didactic system. A structured, rotating 2-year curriculum ensures that each resident will be exposed to each topic at least twice during his/her residency. Additionally, grand rounds regularly feature an outstanding group of visiting national and international professors who typically supplement a lecture series with an expert led hands on prosection in the human tissue lab. Grand rounds represent protected didactic time for residents who are excused from clinical duties during this time.

In addition to grand rounds, there is a series of weekly service-based conferences that enhance the teaching that occurs on each service. Conferences are a combination of resident, fellow, and attending led. Services also host regular cadaver sessions in the human tissue lab, arthroscopic wet and dry labs, saw bone sessions, monthly journal clubs, and travel to organized courses.
