Tensae Assefa Orthopaedic Surgery Residency
Medical School: New York University Grossman School of Medicine Undergraduate: Rice University

Why did you choose Penn Ortho? I wanted to train in a big city with a diverse patient population. I was impressed by how well the residents got along with one another and how much time they spent together outside of the hospital. The operative volume and opportunity to rotate through a wide variety of hospitals was appealing.
Hobbies and Interests Outside of Work? I love playing and watching soccer (have been to 2 World Cups), traveling abroad when possible, going to museums, cooking, video games (FIFA, RPGs).
Favorite part of living in Philadelphia? The city is very approachable, people here are very down to earth. There is a work hard, play hard culture to the city that can be seen throughout. People are very loyal to their sports teams which builds a strong sense of togetherness, (second favorite part is that the food scene is incredible!)
