The clinical mission of the Division of Medical Genetics is to assist people in controlling their health by:
- Identifying their genetic risks;
- Providing information, advice and counseling about specific hereditary diseases and therapeutic options;
- Supporting individual and family decisions regarding diagnosis and management of hereditary diseases or predisposition to disease; and
- Educating the next generation of health care professionals to translate knowledge of genetics into routine healthcare.
