All medical students interested in Internal Medicine can request a faculty career mentor in the Department of Medicine. Students are hand-matched to a faculty member who has clinical, research, educational or administrative roles of interest to the student.

Research Opportunities
The Department of Medicine is committed to helping medical students engage in research throughout medical school including support for the Perelman School of Medicine scholarly pursuit requirement. Within the Department of Medicine there are many opportunities to become involved in different types of research such as basic science research, clinical and translational research, research focused on quality, patient safety, and medical education.
We encourage medical students to become involved in multiple research opportunities in the Department of Medicine. Many Department of Medicine faculty are interested in mentoring medical students. A list of faculty, their area of research and contact information can be found below.
