PIGI Penn Image Guided Intervention Laboratory Research Graphic

Focus

The interests of our laboratory center on translational research for the development of novel imaging approaches and advanced therapeutics in interventional oncology. Emphasizing a team science approach focusing on the convergence of image-guided interventions, cancer biology and molecular imaging, our research applies the study of fundamental cancer biology to inform the development of functional theranostic molecular imaging strategies. Current research focuses on integrated genomic profiling and genome editing to identify targetable vulnerabilities in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) that can be detected using dynamic nuclear polarization MR imaging (DNP-MRI).
