During the COVID-19 pandemic, Penn Medicine is offering telemedicine visits for a variety of services, including coronavirus screenings, select new patient appointments and follow-up care. Telemedicine visits make it easier for you to access the care you need while also following social distancing guidelines. To request a telemedicine appointment, please call 215-316-5145.
More than 9,000 members of our clinical staff are trained to provide telemedicine visits and participate in more than 7,000 visits per day across the health system.
Telemedicine Visits for New Patients
Please note that depending on your location, state laws related to telemedicine may limit your availability to have a telemedicine visit with your provider. We will review your eligibility on a case-by-case basis.
The following Penn Medicine departments currently offer telemedicine visits for new patients:
Telemedicine Appointments for Current Patients
If you already are a Penn Medicine patient, please talk to your doctor to see if telemedicine appointments are right for you. Send your provider a message via MyChart by myPennMedicine or call their office directly.
Penn Medicine OnDemand Visits for Virtual Urgent Care
Penn Medicine OnDemand provides virtual urgent primary care services by providers in the Penn Center for Connected Care. Penn Medicine OnDemand providers can address immediate care needs, such as sore throats, rashes, earaches, muscle or joint pain, and other minor injuries, via video visit. Penn Medicine OnDemand is available 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
Referring Your Patient for a Telemedicine Appointment
We are evaluating specialty-referred patients via telehealth, including new patients. If the patient does not require an in-person visit, we will schedule a virtual visit. Upon scheduling, patients will be informed on how to send imaging and medical records to the provider before their telemedicine visit.
Penn Medicine specialists are available for consultations. Call our 24/7 provider-only line at 877-937-PENN to be connected with the appropriate clinical team.
