Sometimes to find the best care possible, transplant patients and their families travel far from home. With the incredible generosity of our volunteers and donors, we are able to offer patients a home away from home at the Penn's Clyde F. Barker Penn Transplant House.

The Penn Transplant House relies on the generosity of individuals, community organizations, foundations and corporations to support its services and programs. There are many great ways to show your support of the House.

Make a Gift

Gifts can be given in memory, in honor, or in celebration of anniversaries, birthdays, or other special occasions. In addition, there are prominent public spaces and guest rooms available for naming in the House. We are thankful for your support in this practical and critical way. To make a gift, please complete the secure online forms for any of the funds below.

You may also make a check payable to "Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania" and send to:

Donate an Item

You may donate specific items to help us maintain the comforts of home for our families. Items can be donated using our convenient Amazon Wish List. Items donated will be shipped directly to the House.

Currently, the House is also in need of updating a number of larger guest room amenities such as bedroom sets, mattresses, night stands and desks.

If you have any questions about the wish list or donating towards the items needed above, please contact house manager, Edward Sockol, at Edward.Sockol@pennmedicine.upenn.edu or call the House directly at 215-662-4540.

Volunteer Opportunities

volunteers in a kitchenVolunteering at the Clyde F. Barker Penn Transplant House is an opportunity to share your time and talent with our patients and families who are so grateful for the warmth and hospitality that we offer.

  • Make a meal through our Guest Chefs program. You can do this with your friends or coworkers. We have an incredibly well-equipped kitchen — what could be better than making a meal and sharing it?
  • Offer some hours per month to support our staff in the many tasks required to keep our house running. All individual volunteers must be approved by, and complete training with, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania's Volunteer Services Department.

If you have any questions, please contact house manager, Edward Sockol, at Edward.Sockol@pennmedicine.upenn.edu or call the House directly at 215-662-4540.
