Thomas P. Cappola, MD, ScMWelcome to the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. The Division combines the renowned expertise of its clinicians, researchers and educators with the innovation of one of the world’s leading research universities. Our missions are to provide comprehensive, high quality care to our patients no matter how "high risk" their condition; to advance cardiovascular research and bring new innovations to patient care; and to train cardiovascular specialists of the future.

The Division is home to more than 120 faculty and 45 fellows who are supported by a talented and dedicated team of advanced practitioners, nurses, administrators and staff.  Our clinical programs span our downtown Penn Medicine Hospitals (Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and Pennsylvania Hospital) as well as the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz Veterans Affair Medical Center.  Our faculty comprises a substantial part of the Penn Cardiovascular Institute, which fosters cardiovascular science and innovation across the Perelman School of Medicine.

Additionally, we are part of the Heart and Vascular Service Line, which supports cardiovascular clinical programs across all of Penn Medicine. In all of our endeavors, we foster a culture of excellence, diversity, and professional development.  We invite you to explore this website to discover our programs, news, and upcoming events.
