The Penn Center for Quantitative Echocardiography is a state of the art facility dedicated to the efficient and accurate acquisition and quantitation of echocardiographic images and Doppler velocity signals for single- and multi- center clinical trials nationally and internationally. The lab's experience in quantitative echocardiography began in 1979 and our experience as a core lab for large, multi- center clinical trials has resulted in guideline-changing practice in heart failure pharmacologic and device therapy. Most of our work is focused in the field of cardio-oncology, we support research that seeks to understand the connections between cancer treatment and cardiovascular symptoms in order to provide cancer patients with less harmful options. The Center offers state of the art quantitative analyses of 2D and 3D echocardiograms, including detailed measures of cardiac mechanics, remodeling, and function. Dedicated to reproductive, accurate and precise quantitation, we serve as the core lab multiple for NIH, AHA, and industry funded studies.
