Fellow Assignments
The A&I fellow evaluates inpatient consultations and is supervised closely by the A&I attending on service. Inpatients are seen principally at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center. A&I fellows also have the unique experience of 1-month intensive inpatient rotation on the CHOP (pediatric) inpatient service, where they care for children with complex and rare immunologic disorders.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Penn A&I fellows become adept at managing patients that represent the spectrum of allergic/hypersensitivity/immunodeficiency disorders. The most common in-patient consultations include: Drug allergy evaluation, drug desensitization and challenges, angioedema, eosinophilia, unexplained immunologic abnormalities, and immunodeficiency evaluation and management.
