Our tools for researchers include details around our various protocols, policies and procedures, and consent forms where applicable.

The CACTIS Committee has determined regulatory/safety review will no longer be needed for NCTN studies inclusive of a standard of care  CT imaging.

Please note, if the protocol includes research scans, which include specialized imaging methodology a CACTIS application for billing/scheduling purposes is needed.

CACTIS Submission Process:

CACTIS accepts the following types of applications from researchers requiring computed tomography scans for research purposes:

Photon-Counting CT Services

Photon Counting CT at Penn Medicine Pavilion, 2021The Pavilion at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is home to the world's first clinical Photon-Counting CT (PCCT). This new technology allows for state-of-the-art imaging and extends CT diagnostics with high spatial resolution and ultra-low dose scans with spectral data to every patient. PCCT opens opportunity for a wealth of exciting preclinical and clinical research.

Principal investigators interested in conducting PCCT research must complete the following form:

Photon-Counting CT Research Application

The Next-Gen CT Committee will review potential studies to streamline the coordination process and aid the success of individual studies.
