Pennsylvania Hospital's Emergency Department is equipped and staffed to provide excellent emergency medical care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A 911 receiving facility for the Philadelphia Fire Rescue Service, the Pennsylvania Hospital Emergency Department maintains a friendly, service-oriented atmosphere for all patients and their loved ones.

The Emergency Department is the triage and treatment area for patient's presenting with a variety of illnesses and injuries cared for by board-certified physicians and critical care certified emergency nurses. A broad array of sub-specialty consultative services are available around the clock, including a dedicated stroke team made up of emergency and neurology physicians that is mobilized within minutes of a patient's arrival.

Pennsylvania Hospital Renovates the Emergency Department

Pennsylvania Hospital is pleased to announce the renovation of the Emergency Department. The new suite contains state-of-the-art equipment specifically designed to treat patients in emergency situations. Upon completion of the second phase of the project, the emergency department will triple in size to 17,000 square feet with 25 patient rooms and 32 treatment areas in total.
