Healthcare Leadership in Quality Residency Track

Welcome to the Healthcare Leadership for Quality Residency Track program! The call for physician leaders who are skilled in quality improvement and patient safety is a rising one across the nation. Our track is one of the few programs in the country to offer a distinct pathway for residents aspiring to be leaders in health care quality, patient safety, or informatics. During this two year longitudinal pathway, which is embedded within Penn Medicine’s residency programs, residents participate in various sessions that provide them with knowledge in health care quality, measurement, patient safety, informatics, and health care management. Armed with this knowledge, they then join leadership teams and work with them to design and implement an improvement initiative in our health care system as part of Penn Medicine’s Blueprint for Quality and Patient Safety.
