Longitudinal Learning Experience Details
Clinical Precepting Precept at least 2 IPPE students, with teaching certificate participants precepting 2 IPPE and possibly 1 APPE student
Committee Involvement Engage in key meetings, including P&T and Shared Governance
Continuing Education Presentation Deliver an ACPE-accredited CE presentation at Penn Medicine Pharmacy Grand Rounds
Drug Monograph/Formulary Class Review Complete and present a drug monograph or formulary class review
Drug Use Evaluation Conduct a drug use evaluation and present a poster at ASHP Midyear and Vizient Consortium Pharmacy Network Meetings
Error Reporting Submit error reports
Pharmacy Newsletter Contribute to writing and editing the department newsletter
Research Project Complete an IRB-approved research project and present a platform presentation at Eastern States Conference
Staffing Provide coverage for approximately 42 weekend days and up to 5 weeklong weekday shifts throughout the year
Therapeutics Conference Develop and present 4 presentations throughout the year
Elective Experience
Teaching Certificate at Philadelphia College of Pharmacy Optional for residents, this program includes 10 hours of didactic instruction, 15 hours (10 in class, 5 for prep/grading) of small group teaching, along with 4-8 hours monthly for feedback, reflections, portfolio development, and preceptor meetings.
