Text notifications related to your relationship with Penn Medicine or your provider group using myChart by myPennMedicine will now come from 38064. Even if you received text messages from MyChart in the past, it is important to sign up to get texts from our new number. That way you won't miss important text messages to schedule appointments, accept waitlist offers, start telemedicine visits, and get other alerts about your care.

How to sign up for text messages

There are three ways that you can sign up to receive text messages from MyChart by myPennMedicine:

  1. Text START to 38064.
  2. Update your text messaging preferences and notifications under Communication Preferences in MyChart by myPennMedicine.
  3. Ask the front desk when you check in at a Penn Medicine facility.

What do I need to do if I want to continue to receive text messages from MyChart by myPennMedicine?

If I sign up for text alerts, will I also receive text alerts for proxy accounts that I have access to through my MyChart by myPennMedicine account?

You will receive text alerts for those accounts if your mobile number is listed in the mobile field in those account settings. When you log in to MyChart by myPennMedicine, you can view or update these settings by switching to the proxy account and then choosing Personal Information from the drop-down menu.

What if I no longer want to receive texts from MyChart by myPennMedicine?

To stop getting text messages from MyChart by myPennMedicine, you can text STOP to 38064 at any time or change your status under Communication Preferences within your MyChart by myPennMedicine account.
