Application Process

The following programs will collect applications through though ERAS in the December Application cycle and will participate in the Radiology Subspecialty Match:

Neuroradiology
NRMP codes: 1 Year - 1628423F0 and 2 Year - 1628423F1

Interventional Radiology - Independent Residency
NRMP code: 1628415F0

All other Fellowships
Applicants for fellowship programs not participating in ERAS will need to submit the following documents to apply to the program:

  • Radiology fellowship application
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Personal statement or letter of intent
  • Three letters of recommendation sent directly to the program (one should be from your current program director)
  • Medical school transcripts
  • Medical school dean's letter
  • USMLE reports
  • ECFMG certificate (if applicable)

All application documents may be emailed to the program. Please allow at least 10 business days for US Mail to reach our program. Copies of transcripts, dean's letter, and USMLE/ECFMG are accepted.

Penn Radiology follows the SCARD fellowship embargo program for recruitment for Radiology Sub-Specialties.

For Radiology Sub-specialties that do not participate in the Match: (Abdominal Radiology, Nuclear Radiology, Chest, CVI):

For fellowship programs that participate in the NRMP Match (IR-Independent, MSK, Breast, Neuroradiology):

Requirements

Prerequisite training for entry into a subspecialty fellowship program should include the satisfactory completion of a diagnostic radiology residency program accredited by the ACGME or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

All applicants MUST meet the Pennsylvania licensing requirements.

  • Subspecialty Fellowship Programs require prior training in Diagnostic Radiology. Therefore fellows in these subspecialty programs are licensed as a PGY 6 or above. For specific ACGME program requirements, please visit the ACGME Diagnostic Radiology Page.

Foreign Nationals requesting visa sponsorship should review the visa information (if applicable).
