About Dr. Catalano

Michael is a PGY3 resident in the integrated cardiothoracic surgery residency program. He received his bachelor’s degree in economics and quantitative biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to medical school, he spent one year working in healthcare strategy consulting. He then completed his medical education at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. His research interests include clinical outcomes and health services research, and his clinical interests include aortic and congenital cardiac surgery. He plans to pursue a career in academic cardiac surgery.
