The PPMC PGY1 pharmacy residency is a twelve-month, postgraduate training experience that abides by accreditation standards set forth by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. The goal of this residency is to provide experience to develop competency, knowledge and skills as a clinical pharmacist within a healthcare system in preparation for a PGY2 residency.

The PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at PPMC is an ASHP-accredited program as of 2013. The program was established in 2011 and has continued to grow alongside the Penn Medicine health-system. PPMC currently offers four positions for the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency.

Residents interested in pursuing PGY2 residencies in Ambulatory Care, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine or Infectious Diseases can apply for consideration for early commitment for the respective programs.
