Hannah Kafisheh, PharmD is the current Critical Care Pharmacy Resident at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC). She is originally from Dallas, TX and received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Texas at Austin. She later received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Jefferson College of Pharmacy in Philadelphia, PA. In June 2020, Dr. Kafisheh completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at PPMC.
Her current interests include Medical ICU, Heart and Vascular ICU, and Trauma Bay Response – although, she is eager to experience all realms of critical care this year. Her research experience includes outpatient antimicrobial stewardship for patients discharged from the Emergency Department and antimicrobial prophylaxis in traumatic open fractures. Her work in antimicrobial stewardship has recently been accepted for presentation at the 2020 IDWeek Conference. During her PGY1 training, Hannah completed a medication use evaluation focused on liposomal bupivacaine utilization at PPMC. This year, she will be conducting an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) anticoagulation evaluation.
Dr. Kafisheh is an active member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM). In addition to pharmacy, her passions include hiking, boxing, and leisure reading.
