Housestaff are encouraged to utilize a number of alternatives to pursue complaints or grievances relating to any aspect of their experience during residency training. These include discussions with:
- The Program Director
- Director, Surgery Education Administration
- Program Coordinator
- The Chairman of the Department of Surgery
- The Graduate Medical Education Committee Staff including the Designated Institutional Officer
- The Resident Executive Council for the Department of Surgery or a subcommittee thereof.
- Ombudsperson (determined by the housestaff committee) (GME Policy)
- Surgical Trainee Event Monitoring Systems (STEMS) (intranet only)
