Attendance and participation in the
Weekly Resident Conference (Thursdays from 8:00 am - 9:00 am),
Surgery Grand Rounds (select Thursdays, 7:00 am - 8:00 am) and
Surgery Case Management Conference (Thursdays, 7:00 am - 8:00 am); is required of all surgery housestaff except for EMERGENCY clinical duties.
An attendance database is kept by the DSE who provides quarterly reports to the Program Director and Chairman. Attendance at surgical conferences is noted on resident bi-annual performance review.
Attendance is expected above the 90th percent excluding the following assignments: Clinical Trips, on Research Trips, CTSICU, All Night Float rotations, CHOP, Neurosurgery, Urology, Orthopedics, OMFS.
