About Dr. Sharon

Cimarron Sharon is a chief resident in General Surgery. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Muhlenberg College in 2014 and received her medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in 2018. During her time in medical school she performed research with Dr. Giorgos Karakousis investigating clinical outcomes in patients with melanoma. She plans to pursue a career in academic general surgery, and is also interested in the intersection between social factors and patient health outcomes.

Designed and initiated a seminar series on perioperative surgical decision-making for surgical sub-interns. Responsibilities included developing the cases with surgical faculty, assisting faculty members in running the sessions, and recruiting student participants and volunteers.
Created surveys in order to gauge effectiveness of sessions and provide a needs assessment.
