About Dr. Gomez
Melody Gomez is a General Surgery resident at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a proud New York City native and first-generation college graduate. She completed her undergraduate education at Harvard University and received her medical degree from the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. As a medical student she served as president of the First-Generation Low-Income Partnership and co-led various community-based initiatives aimed at promoting equity in and access to higher education and improving community health. She is passionate about mentorship, teaching, and wellness in surgical training. Her current clinical interests include thoracic, trauma, and pediatric surgery.
