Course Information
The Advanced Trauma Operative Management course was developed as a model for teaching operative trauma techniques to surgical residents, fellows, and attending surgeons. Sponsored by the American College of Surgeons, the ATOM course is designed to supplement the surgical training experience. The course begins with a series of didactic lectures and is followed by a porcine lab operative experience. Traumatic injuries are managed by the student in real time with guidance from faculty, creating an exceptional academic experience.
The American College of Surgeons designates this educational activity with 7.5 AMA PRA Category one Credits.TM
