  • You should receive a confirmation email upon registration.
    • If you did not, please contact PACETraining@pennmedicine.upenn.edu to make sure the correct email address was entered during registration.
    • This is important because mandatory course prework and course announcements are sent via email.

Books

In most cases, books are sent to students one month prior to the course they registered for, in addition to other electronic communication about the course.

Students for ATLS and ATCN Refresher and Instructor courses will not be provided with a book if ATLS/ATCN is using the same edition book from four years prior.

Students enrolled in virtual or hybrid courses may not be provided with a physical book if an electronic book is made available.

Meals

Meals will be provided for some courses but not others - please check your registration confirmation and course communication emails so you may plan accordingly.

Course Prework

Most courses require prework. Please check your email communications to be sure. Completion of the pretest is mandatory in order to be admitted to these courses, no exceptions. Please contact PACETraining@pennmedicine.upenn.edu if you have not received the electronic pretest within three weeks of the course.

Attendance and Cancellations

In order to receive credit for completing a course, full attendance is required. Requests for late arrivals or early departures cannot be accommodated. If for any reason you need to cancel your registration for one of our educational offerings, you must do so in writing (email) to PACETraining@pennmedicine.upenn.edu at least two weeks prior to the offering you registered for in order to receive a refund. If you fail to cancel your registration without two weeks notice, no refunds will be issued, no exceptions. For internal candidates, your department AU will be charged the full amount of the course in the case of late cancellations or no shows.

Registrants eligible for a refund will be issued an institutional check. Please allow for processing time.

Illness

Please do not attend a course if you are ill. Contact PACETraining@pennmedicine.upenn.edu with as much notice as possible to make alternate arrangements.

Posttest, Course Evaluations, Certification of Completion

Posttests are on paper for most courses and each course has a minimum passing grade.

For most courses, after arriving on the day of the course you will receive an email with the subject reading "Registration Reminder." This email includes a link to the post-course evaluation for the educational offering or other information regarding post-course work.

Please wait to complete this evaluation until requested to do so by course faculty. Once you submit the evaluation, your electronic certificate of completion will appear on your mobile device. This will include any information about continuing education credits or trauma hours (UPHS), if applicable.  Please keep this for your records.

Official certificates from course organizations will be mailed (or emailed, depending on the course) to participants several weeks after the course. Please keep the certificate for your file and note your certification expiration date.
