Current Fellows— Class of 2024
Margaret (Maggie) Provencher, MD
Dr. Maggie Provencher is our Emergency Medicine trained Primary Care Sports Medicine fellow. She grew up outside of Philadelphia in Mickleton, NJ. She completed her undergraduate studies at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA. There she was on the varsity women’s rowing team for four years. She completed her Bachelor of Arts with a major in neuroscience and a minor in religious studies. She then earned her medical degree from The University of Maryland School of Medicine, completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Penn, and served as chief resident this past year. She is very excited to continue her training as a sports medicine fellow at Penn! When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, hiking, long walks with her dog (Lea), and trying out new restaurants throughout the city.
Christian Belisario, DO
Dr. Christian Belisario is our PM&R-trained Primary Care Sports Medicine fellow. He grew up on Long Island in New York and went to the University of Connecticut for his undergraduate studies, majoring in Biological Sciences with a minor in Molecular and Cell Biology. For medical school, he went to the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine where he also obtained a master’s degree in Academic Medicine. He then completed his PM&R residency at the University of Pennsylvania, and he is very excited to stay at Penn for his sports medicine fellowship! In his free time, you can find him playing basketball, tennis, pickleball, traveling, watching any sport (but particularly the UConn Huskies men’s and women’s basketball teams), or hanging out with friends at the nearest beach.
