The overall goal of the ART laboratory is to support the in-vitro fertilization (IVF) program and provide patients seeking assisted reproductive treatment with safe, effective, and successful outcomes. Briefly, the process of IVF consists of oocyte retrieval (or thawing), insemination of oocyte(s) with sperm and transferring an embryo or embryos into the uterus.
Penn Fertility Care offers many services including:
- Oocyte freezing and preservation
- Ovarian and testicular tissue preservation and maintenance
- Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
- Sperm motility and maturation markers
- Donor oocyte cycles (we can accommodate both fresh and frozen oocyte cycles)
- Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) and preimplantation genetic screening (PGS)
- Non-invasive embryo culture
- Time-lapse video imagery
- Controlled micro-environment
- Reduced oxygen culture
- Epigenetics and embryo selection
- Vitrification of supernumerary embryos
