Research to Prevent Blindness (RPB) has awarded Brian L. VanderBeek, MD, MPH, MSCE, a $300,000 RPB Mary Tyler Moore Vision Initiative (MTMVI) Physician-Scientist Award to support his work in developing novel ways of assessing diabetic retinal disease.

Dr. VanderBeek is one of 19 RPB Physician-Scientists who have received the award since it was reestablished in 2015.
