Matt Hinton headshotMatthew Hinton, PharmD, BCEMP

Matt is currently the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Emergency Medicine at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. He received his doctorate of pharmacy from the University of Oklahoma. He then completed a PGY1 residency at University of Florida Health - Jacksonville and PGY2 residency in Emergency Medicine at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Prior to joining Penn Presbyterian in 2018, he has helped establish clinical pharmacy services in two separate academic medical centers.

Dr. Hinton is a member of the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (ASHP), American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), and the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM). His research experiences include management of alcohol withdrawal, antimicrobial stewardship, and evaluating health literacy in Emergency Department.

Derek is currently a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Emergency Medicine at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. He is originally from York, PA and received his doctorate of pharmacy from Temple University School of Pharmacy. He completed his PGY1 Pharmacy Practice residency at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and PGY2 Emergency Medicine residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Prior to joining Penn Presbyterian in 2022, he held the position of Clinical Pharmacist - Emergency Department at University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health, a community medical center in Bel Air, Maryland.

Dr. Peiffer is a member of the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists (ASHP) and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP). His professional interests include cardiac arrest management, toxicology, and the management of trauma patients.

PGY-2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency Program Director

Raymond is a Critical Care Pharmacy Specialist at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC). He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at St. John’s University, where he received the University’s Excellence in Patient Care Award. He then completed his Pharmacy Practice and Critical Care residency training at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Lamore currently practices in both medical and surgical intensive care. He previously served as the co-chair for the institution’s Medication Safety Committee.

Dr. Lamore is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM), completed three terms as a selected member of ASHP’s New Practitioners Forum Advisory Group, and continues to be an active member of the Delaware Valley Society of Health-System Pharmacists, recently completing a term as president. He also received Pennsylvania Health-System Pharmacists’ Joe E Smith Award in recognition for service to his institution, the community, and the profession.

Lauren is a Critical Care Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. She is originally from Mechanicsburg, PA and received her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from Temple University School of Pharmacy in Philadelphia. She completed her PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA and PGY-2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Her current position provides her the opportunity to rotate through the Medical ICU, Heart and Vascular ICU, Trauma and Surgical ICU, Neurology ICU and Trauma Bay Response. Her professional interests include sepsis, traumatic brain injury, fluids, and anticoagulation reversal. Dr. Mangan is an active member of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) and Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) and participates in the Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology Section of SCCM.

Vanessa is currently a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Critical Care at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. She is originally from Marshfield, WI and received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy in Minneapolis, MN. She completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and PGY2 Critical Care Residency at WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh, NC.

Her current position provides her opportunity to rotate through the Medical ICU, Heart and Vascular ICU, Trauma Surgical ICU, and Neurology ICU. Dr. Prendergast is a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM). Her practice interests in critical care include: Sedation, analgesia, and delirium; management of trauma patients; and anticoagulation management.

Clare is currently a Critical Care Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. She is originally from Whately, MA and received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of Connecticut. She completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA and her PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. Her professional interests within critical care include anticoagulation reversal, management of trauma patients, toxicology, and resuscitation. Clare is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM).
