PGY-2 Infectious Diseases Residency Program Director

Amanda is currently an Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. After graduation, she went on to complete her PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice residency and PGY-2 Infectious Diseases residency at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Her interests within infectious diseases include antimicrobial stewardship, HIV and Hepatitis C therapy.

Current areas of practice include antimicrobial stewardship, inpatient Infectious Diseases consult service, Infectious Diseases Transitions in Care, and HIV and Hepatitis C ambulatory care. Dr. Binkley is a member of the American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM), and the American Society of Hospital Pharmacist (ASHP). She currently serves as the co-chair of the AAHIVM Pennsylvania Steering Committee. Her research experiences include access to Hepatitis C therapy, medication errors associated with antiretroviral therapy, antimicrobial stewardship interventions and utilization of clinical decision support tools for antimicrobial prescribing.

Nina Maguire, PharmD is an Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. She is originally from Atlanta, GA and received her doctor of pharmacy degree at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy in Athens, Georgia. She went on to complete her PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice residency and PGY-2 Infectious Diseases residency at Ascension Seton at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. She is a member of the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists.

Dr. Maguire’s current areas of practice include inpatient infectious diseases consult, antimicrobial stewardship, infectious diseases transitions of care, and HIV and Hepatitis C outpatient clinic. Her professional interests include gram negative resistance, optimization of pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic indices in unique patient populations, and ambulatory HIV care.

Matty Zimmerman, PharmD is an Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Jefferson College of Pharmacy in 2021 and completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Zimmerman is a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) where she is a member of the New Practitioners Forum Resident Advancement Advisory Group. Dr. Zimmerman is also a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) and the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP).

Dr. Zimmerman started working at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in August 2023 and practices in Infectious Diseases. Her professional interests include HIV, HCV, substance use disorders, antimicrobial stewardship and teaching.
