What inspires me about GI: The diversity in clinical practice with both procedural and medical management of patients as well as the ability to provide both acute and longitudinal care for patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. GI is a very interdisciplinary specialty which requires knowledge of many organ systems, and which intersects with many other subspecialties in medicine thereby allowing for life-long learning in medicine!
My interests within GI: Hereditary GI cancer genetic syndromes including Lynch Syndrome, Colorectal cancer, gut-immune dysregulation, PBC/PSC to cholangiocarcinoma transformation, liver transplantation in the setting of malignancy
Hobbies: Cooking, Hiking, Travel, National Parks, Arts and Crafts
Why I Chose Penn: I chose Penn because of the emphasis and commitment to physician-scientist training within gastroenterology/hepatology as well as the excellent training environment, mentorship, and supportive culture of the program.
