The Clyde F. Barker Vascular Surgery Interest Group (VSIG) at the Perelman School of Medicine strives to provide exposure and opportunities for engagement for medical students within the Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy at the University of Pennsylvania. Medical students can learn more about the specialty through clinical opportunities, research projects, and educational / simulation sessions. Clinical opportunities include attending / scrubbing vascular surgery cases and participating in clinic. Educational opportunities include lectures and open / endovascular simulation sessions facilitated by trainees and faculty. There are a number of research projects also available to those interested on an individual basis. The VSIG also affords those students interested in pursuing residency training in vascular surgery the opportunity for longitudinal mentorship relationships with current trainees and faculty.
