About Dr. Haddad

Diane Haddad, MD, MPH is Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania in the Division of Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, and Emergency Surgery. She completed her general surgery residency at Vanderbilt University, where she obtained her MPH in Health Policy as a post-doctoral fellow, studying health disparities and payment and policy reform. She holds an MD from Boston University, where during her training, she completed a Doris Duke International Clinical Research Fellowship in South Africa. Diane’s research focuses on building more equitable health care systems that more effectively address the social determinants of health. She hopes to not only better understand the policies that lead to greater burden of violence and injury but enact meaningful systemic change to improve the provision of surgical care in this country.
