The Penn Medicine Trauma Network provides the organizational framework for a premier and integrated system of care for patients who are critically injured. Established in 1994, the Penn Medicine Trauma Network promotes trauma center excellence and optimized trauma clinical care outside of Philadelphia. Over the last 28 years, the Network has served twenty-one hospitals inside and outside of the state of Pennsylvania. The Network establishes centers of excellence and best practices in trauma care, education, and prevention that create and share new knowledge gained through basic, clinical and health service research.
