Nicholas BensonNicholas Benson, MD

Dr. Benson is an Emergency Medicine Physician at the University of Pennsylvania Health System, fellow in Emergency Medicine Administration and Leadership, and Wharton Executive MBA Candidate. He has undergone specialized training in healthcare quality improvement, emergency department operations, medical device development, and medical technology commercialization. He has served in numerous leadership positions including Chief Resident of Emergency Medicine and Chapter Delegate to the American Medical Association. He has won awards in medical technology innovation, leadership, and patient safety. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society.

 

Daniel AyorindeDaniel Ayorinde, MD

Danny is a first-generation Nigerian-American born in Washington, D.C. Before pursuing medicine, he worked for three years in the biotech industry at AstraZeneca. He attended Howard University College of Medicine and is completing his residency at Johns Hopkins, where he continues to explore his interests in healthcare administration, quality improvement, social determinants of health, and advocacy. As a resident, Daniel served  on the Maryland ACEP Board of Directors, and in departmental roles focused on clinical efficiency, operations, and patient safety. His projects include developing protocols for managing uncomplicated distal upper extremity fractures, creating resuscitation guidance tools, and conducting a de-implementation study on transthoracic echocardiogram use in syncope evaluation. In his free time, he enjoys exercise, travel, youth mentorship, sports (as a devoted fan of the Wizards, Manchester United, and the Rams), and spending time with family. He is excited to join the UPenn family and community of Philadelphia this upcoming year!
