Listen to Dr. Samir Mehta discuss Weekend Warrior Safety Tip's from Penn Medicine's Level 1 Trauma Center.
One of the most common injuries in summertime athletes is stress fractures. Common places for stress fractures are; the leg, heel, and hip.
If you do not give your body the proper amount of time to rest and recuperate, stress fractures can lead to bigger problems. If you are experiencing any type of pain while doing an activity, or pain while lifting weights, and it is always in the same exact spot, chances are you have a stress fracture. You should always treat stress fractures right away before they become worse.
