To increase diversity and foster a sense of unity in our hospital community, we are active in a wide range of activities including:
- Support a resident-run Minority House Staff Council
- Host informal social events at faculty member’s homes or local restaurants for faculty, fellow and residents
- Provide mentorship to incoming interns. The mentoring program is a tool for monitoring and promoting resident career goals, research productivity, professionalism, and personal growth. Each incoming intern is assigned a junior or senior resident peer mentor, as well as a faculty mentor. The faculty mentor serves as a guide, role model and an advocate for the resident mentee. The peer mentor provides advice and shared experience as a fellow member of the program.
