For our PGY2’s and PGY3’s, the format is similar to the intern ILM’s but the themes are tailored to the needs of upper year residents. Residents go to one academic half-day per week while on their ILM block where they participate in interactive talks focusing on the themes above. In addition to the focus on these skill-based themes, we have a 2-year curriculum that includes additional teaching from subspecialty experts on topics not covered in the intern year or on inpatient rotations.

Throughout the ILM’s there is emphasis on several high yield themes such as Quality Improvement and Safety, Communication and Professionalism, Health Disparities and Wellness among others.

Flexible Scheduling During Upper Year ILM

  • One (1) didactic session per week
  • One (1) wellness half-day of your choice per week

Resident ILM Thursday Morning Conferences

These conferences are devoted to outpatient management topics presented by core faculty. These sessions are more advanced, case-based discussions aimed at the resident level. Themes are concentrated in subspecialty areas including gastroenterology, cardiology, pulmonary, hematology-oncology, geriatrics and palliative care. They also incorporate skill-building along curricular themes during the year including communication skills, evidence-based medicine, medical education, and more.
